Services for Jan. 5 and 12

Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, 10:30 am, Second Sunday after Christmas and the Eve of Epiphany

Celebrating God’s Abundance: An Ingathering of Financial Commitments for 2020

As we enter the season of Epiphany, we celebrate the visitation of the Magi to the place of Jesus’ birth having followed a star. Upon finding the child, they offered him the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh—each having important significance as the Gospel of Jesus unfolds. At this service, we also celebrate the gifts we bring to the community of St. Marks through our pledges and financial commitments for 2020. We also offer ourselves to the community of Christ as we serve God in this place and time. A festive reception will follow this service. (One service this Sunday)

Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, 10:30 am, The First Sunday after Epiphany: The Baptism of our Lord

On this Sunday, we celebrate the Baptism of our Lord Jesus who came into a renewed sense of call and purpose after being driven into the wilderness following his baptism. We welcome new members and renew our own baptism vows and recall how our purpose and commitments in life are being renewed day by day. (One service this Sunday)
