Holy Week Schedule 2015
March 29 – Palm Sunday – 8:30 a.m. Blessing of the Palms begins in the Concourse 10:30 a.m. Blessing of the Palms begins in the Memorial Garden weather permitting.
April 2 – Maundy Thursday – 8:00 p.m. Worship begins in the Centrum (we begin a half hour later this year so the youth can prepare a supper of pancakes to begin serving at 6:30 p.m.)
April 3 – Good Friday – 12 Noon – The Women of the Passion – Meditations on the Stations of the Cross as told by women in Jesus’ life.
April 3 – Good Friday – 7:30 p.m. The Proper Liturgy for Good Friday includes the readings of the Passion story from the Gospel of John.
April 4 – Holy Saturday – 9:30 a.m. A meditation is part of our brief morning worship.
April 4 – A Vigil of Lessons & Palms – 7:30 p.m. The Rt. Rev. Anne Hodges-Copple, Bishop Suffragan of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, will preside and give the homily at a service in which we hear a series of readings, psalms, and canticles to prepare for the coming of Easter.
April 5 – A Service of Light to Greet Easter Day – 8:30 a.m.– Weather permitting we’ll gathered in the Memorial Garden to light the first fire of Easter followed by the first Eucharist of Easter.
April 5 – A Festival Eucharist of Easter Day – 10:30 a.m. – We will celebrate Holy Baptism and the Holy Eucharist to the joyful celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection. This service is followed by an Egg Hunt for children and a Covered Dish Brunch.
